TRINITY LUTHERAN SCHOOL

Growing in Mind, Character, and Faith

Academics are important to us, to you, and to your child.  At Trinity, our small class sizes provide an environment in which your child can be empowered to learn and reach higher academic standards.  Our teachers provide personalized instruction by addressing the needs of each individual student in all subject areas as needed.

Our test scores demonstrate that commitment to excellence, and our students routinely score in the 70% percentile and higher in standardized testing.

Trinity will make a difference for you and your child!

Not only do we strive for your child to receive the benefits of a quality Christian education, but we work together with you – the parent – to help your child grow in other areas.  Your child’s physical, emotional, and social development are also important to us.  Trinity provides an open and safe environment in which you are involved in the growth and overall development of your child.  In addition, we provide a wide variety of additional opportunities in sports, forensics, art, and music to help your child develop into a well-rounded, young Christian adult.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”   Matthew 19:14

At Trinity we feel called to enrich and fortify your child daily with the true word of Christ.  Therefore, we incorporate the Word of God as an integral part of our curriculum.  Memory work, weekly chapel, and daily mentoring and instruction – embodied with the true Word of God – are additional benefits of our Christ-centered environment.

Trinity’s more than affordable tuition allows you to give your child the education and tools needed to prepare for the future.   Our parents know the value of a Trinity education.  Whether attending preschool, kindergarten, transitional kindergarten, or first through eighth grades, every child will gain a solid foundation at Trinity and be equipped with the skills needed to succeed in high school and beyond.

OUR MISSION & PHILOSOPHY

Trinity Lutheran School exists to assist parents in bringing children up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

That’s our job here at Trinity Lutheran School…to help parents with the awesome responsibility of helping children grow.  We stand ready to help children grow socially, scholastically, physically, and spiritually.  We accomplish this by having a rigorous curriculum that challenges children to reach their full potential as a community of learners.  We accomplish this also by partnering with parents, children, and staff to create a God-pleasing learning environment.  Parents, staff, and community members recognize Trinity Lutheran School for what it is–a school of excellence.

Trinity Lutheran Congregation operates a school in order to accomplish the following:

  1. To nurture believers for lives of Christian service
  2. To win the lost for Christ
  3. To assist families in the spiritual education of their children
  4. To prepare children in Preschool through 8th grade for learning
  5. To give children the tools needed to succeed in high school and beyond
  6. To prepare children for a life of God-pleasing citizenship in the community.

All the usual and required elementary subjects are taught in our school.  However, here at Trinity those subjects are taught in the light of God’s Word as given to us in the Bible.

  1. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
  2. We believe that the Bible is the only source of faith and Christian living.
  3. We believe and teach that the Bible does not contain any errors, mistakes, or contradictions.

The Bible is the basis of all of our teaching because it alone can answer the three most important questions that all of us must finally answer:

  • Where did we come from?
  • Why are we here?
  • Where are we going?

OUR HISTORY

Quality Christian Education

Trinity Ev. Lutheran Congregation at Belle Plaine, Minnesota was forged in the heat of adversity, having been organized on January 26, 1890 as a preaching station by the Rev. J. G. Albrecht of Jordan, Minn.  The Trinity Congregation was founded by the pastor and seventeen members of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Belle Plaine, who were conscience-bound to pursue the sound confessional teachings and practice of conservative Lutheranism which, as a minority in their former church, they were not in a position to maintain.

The efforts of the founders of Trinity Congregation were blessed with immediate results.  For a short time during 1891, formal church services were conducted in the local Presbyterian Church, but by August 9, 1891, a small school building was erected and served as the place for instruction classes for children of Trinity Congregation.

In the fall of 1944, a Christian day school was begun under the direction of Mr. Richard Grunze.  A second teacher was added shortly after school began.

On September 29, 1968, Trinity Congregation dedicated a beautiful church-school complex to the glory of the Risen Savior, which is our present-day home.

TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH

A family united in Christ

Trinity Lutheran Church is a congregation of Bible-believing Christians that are intent on growing in their faith and walking with their Savior. Trinity Lutheran belongs to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod which believes that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired word of God which shows us our Savior and what he did to earn heaven for us.

Matthew 19:14 states “Then Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” With this passage in mind, Trinity Lutheran Church is the main financial supporter of the Christian education that students receive at Trinity Lutheran School. With this financial support, Trinity Lutheran School is able to offer a quality education for students in grades Pk-8 at an affordable price.

ACCREDITATION

Ensuring Quality Education

In an effort to ensure that a quality education is provided for our students K-8 students, Trinity Lutheran School is an accredited school by the Minnesota Nonpublic School Accrediting Association (MNSAA).  Trinity is also nationally recognized by the National Federation of Nonpublic School State Accrediting Association (NFNSSAA) for successfully completing the accreditation process established by MNSAA.

TECHNOLOGY

Providing bright minds with the tools they need to succeed

Trinity Lutheran School integrates technology at each and every grade level in a meaningful way.  All students in grade 3-8 have their own Chromebook and access to Google Applications for Education. In grades 3-8 students gain typing skills, knowledge in using basic word process, presentation, graphic, and spreadsheet tools. Students also use the technology to enhance their education with various external sources for research, practice in key grade level skills, and to start to gain an understanding in computer programming skills.

Our PK-2 students have access to tablets in which they use various grade level appropriate educational applications that build upon and challenge students in their math, reading, and phonics skills. In these grade levels, we believe that the students need a healthy balance of how much screen time students have each day and how much time is spent working with traditional writing tools to help students develop their fine motor skills and creative minds.

Each of our K-8 classrooms are also equipped with a Promethean interactive board.  With the use of these boards, lessons become more dynamic and student engagement increases during instructional time. As the student participate with these board, their comprehension and confidence in the new material increases over traditional lecture style of instruction.
