Next week, when we return from Thanksgiving Break, it will be a busy week with a lot of different things going on. Starting next week, we will be meeting as a school to begin preparing for our Christmas program. When we meet multiple times during a week, I try to skip different classes each time to help provide a more balanced education for the students. Also, please note that we will be having two pages for our spelling assignment on Monday and no assignment on Wednesday. I do this during advent and lent to help lighten the homework load on Wednesdays so that families can worship in the evening if they so choose.
Next week the third-graders will have a math test on Tuesday, all of the students will have a science test on Wednesday, the fourth-graders will have a math test on Friday, and the usual spelling test will take place on Friday as well.
If you are choosing to contribute to our classroom Rotary Tree gift, please make sure to have your monetary donation to school by Wednesday.
Also, next week, I will be sending home the next Scholastic book order form. To ensure these are delivered by Christmas break, they will be due Friday, December 6. As always, you can order online, or return the order form with exact payment in the form of cash or a check made out to “Susan Van Houten.” If your purchase is a Christmas gift that you would like to be kept a secret, please let me know when you place your order.
