May 22-25

The final week is upon us. I am sure many of the students have been eagerly counting down the days. Since the end is near, I will start sending supplies home with your child that are no longer needed.

Did you know that, on average, students lose 2.6 months’ worth of lessons in maths? Overall, students can lose 30% of what they learned. The good news is that these numbers can be reduced by having your students read and engage their brains throughout the summer. One way to do that is to have a set reading expectation. Additionally, your student can log into ixl all summer long. Finally, today your child will be coming home with some packets of activities that can help keep their mind active throughout the summer.

All library books are due tomorrow, Friday. Please makes sure your student has their library books at school tomorrow.

This next week the students will have several tests. On Tuesday, the fourth graders will have an English test. On Wednesday, there will be end-of-the-year English and math tests for everyone. Finally, we will have our last spelling test on Thursday.

Please note that next Thursday, we will have our closing chapel service. Following the chapel service, there will be some awards as well. All are welcome to attend.

Don’t forget, the final all-school song is on Sunday, May 28. Additionally, the Junior Choir will be singing the Lord’s Prayer near the end of the service.

Here are some important dates for your calendar.
