I hope everyone has a relaxing Thanksgiving Break and that your family can take some time to have some fun with each other.
Next week, we are back to normal, and it will be a busy week in the classroom. The fourth-graders will have a math test on Tuesday, and the third-graders will have their next math test on Friday. Later in the week, the students will write their next paper for English class, and the usual spelling test will occur on Friday.
Please note that the spelling assignments are grouped a little differently this week and in the following weeks of December. I intentionally did not assign any new spelling pages on Wednesday. The reason for this is to try to limit how much homework the students will have. I want to make it as easy as possible for families to worship at the special 7 p.m. midweek services during Advent.
The next Scholastic order forms went home yesterday. If you wish to place an order, please have all orders submitted by Friday, December 4. You can order online using the code MWFG4. I believe that if you choose to online, you can now select to have it shipped to your home. Otherwise, you can still return the order to school with exact payment in the form of cash or a check made out to “Susan Van Houten.” If part of the order is a gift that you want to be kept a secret, let me know so that I don’t spoil the surprise.
Next week will be finishing off the last lesson in the yellow folders. Please return the yellow folder to school by Wednesday as a new set of lessons will be going home that same day.
