This next week the students will have a couple of tests. There will be a math test on Monday for the third-graders, and the fourth-graders will have their math test on Wednesday. On Friday, the students will have their usual spelling test.
On Monday, January 18, I plan to have the students create a diorama of space to help them visualize several of their science vocabulary words. They will need a box of some sort to do this. The ideal size of a box would be like a shoebox or similar sized Amazon type shipping box. It doesn’t need to be very deep, so even a cereal box will work. If the box is smaller than that, they are likely to get frustrated trying to squeeze it all in, and will have a hard time learning from the experience.
Can you believe that we are already halfway through January? How is your child doing on reaching their AR goal? So far, one student has achieved their goal, and three more are over halfway. Please make sure you keep encouraging your child to read at home and to make sure to have their library books at school each day.
If your family uses the Trinity Care program, there will be a change in billing procedures starting in February. Please read more about that change in this week’s all-school weekly newsletter.
