Week of February 15

No School Monday

Don’t forget, there is no school next Monday in honor of Presidents’ Day.  Enjoy the day off and extra family time!

Skit Night

This year, our annual Skit Night will look different.  In order to include as many children as possible and to avoid a gathering of a larger crowd, the classroom skits will go virtual.  The students will be preparing their skits, recording them, and then links will be shared for families to enjoy at home.  More details will follow at a later date.

All-School Spelling Bee

This year the All-School Spelling Bee will take place on Friday, March 12 here at Trinity.  Unlike past years, we will not be inviting family members to attend so as to reduce the amount of people coming and going from Trinity during the school day. The event will be recorded and made available for families to view and enjoy from home.  More details will follow at a later date.

Kwik Trip

Kwik Trip is having a special offer. Their cards will have a 10% discount when ordered for this month only. Your child received an order form. There are extra order forms attached to the weekly Newsletter email as well. Please have the order form returned to Mrs. Anderson by the end of the school day on February 19. The checks will be deposited the morning of Monday, February 22.  The cards will be handed out as soon as possible.  Please talk to Mrs. Anderson with any questions.

Mizzy’s Pizza Fundraiser

It is time for PTO’s annual pizza fundraiser!  On Tuesday, February 16, if you order any menu item from Mizzy’s Pizza in Belle Plaine and mention “Trinity Lutheran School”  a portion of your order will be donated back to Trinity’s PTO!  More details will be coming home soon!

Grandparents/Special Person Day

At this time, we are still limiting the number of visitors that come and go during the school day.  Therefore, we have decided not to hold our annual Grandparents/Special Person Day this year.  Hopefully, next year we will be able to resume this tradition.

Before school drop off reminder

In order to ensure that the students are safe and supervised in the school building, please begin dropping them off at 8:00 AM unless you plan on using Trinity before care. If you need to drop off before 8:00 AM, please sign your child up in advance for Trinity before care via the link provided.  Thank you.

Please continue to register your child/ren for Trinity Care up to 2 weeks in advance. Additional directions are given in the Google spreadsheet.

Cold and Flu Season

Many of you may be wondering what to do when your child develops new symptoms that most likely is related to a typical cold but are also possible symptoms related to COVID-19. Additionally, all siblings must also remain home for 10 days or until a health care provider gives the ok. For more information or questions on whether you should send your child to school, please contact Susan Van Houten or your child’s teacher.
