Week of March 8-12

Spelling Bee

This year’s spelling bee is just a week away.  It will be Friday, March 12 at 1 p.m. Please note that we are trying to limit the number of visitors in the school, so we will live stream and record the spelling bee so that you can watch your child participate from the comfort of your home.  Another change this year is that we will have the 6th and 7th grade go first, then the 1st and 2nd graders, and finally, the 3-5th grade students will wrap up the event.

Kindergarten/Preschool Round-Up

We will have in-person Kindergarten/Preschool Round-Up on March 15, 18, 22, and 25. Please sign up through the link or the QR code. Talk to Mrs. Anderson with any questions. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080949ADA822A5FD0-kindergartenpresc

Trinity Care

Please continue to register your child/ren for Trinity Care up to 2 weeks in advance. Additional directions are given in the Google spreadsheet.

Cold and Flu Season

Many of you may be wondering what to do when your child develops new symptoms that most likely is related to a typical cold but are also possible symptoms related to COVID-19. According to the most current guidelines, if your child has one of the following symptoms, then they need to remain home for at least 10 days unless a health care provider clears your child to return to school:

  • a fever of 100.4 or greater
    • new or worsening cough
    • difficulty breathing
    • a new loss of taste and smell

Additionally, all siblings must also remain home for 10 days or until a health care provider gives the ok.

For more information or questions on whether you should send your child to school, please contact Susan Van Houten or your child’s classroom teacher.

Daily at-home Health Check

Please continue to check your child’s temperature before leaving for school to verify they do not have a fever of 100.4 degrees or more. (Do not medicate your child and send them.)

Also, please perform a visual check on your child for the following conditions:

  • Flushed Cheeks
  • Rapid Breathing/Difficulty Breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Extreme Fussiness
  • Runny Nose
  • Excessive Cough
  • Sneezing
  • Rash

Please note that students will be admitted into school if these symptoms are connected to a pre-existing condition or diagnosis not related to COVID (e.g., norovirus, strep throat) and are deemed safe by a health care provider.
