Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone finds rest and relaxation with family this holiday weekend.
Don’t forget, 4th and 5th graders are scheduled to sing this Sunday at the 9 a.m. service. I hope to see as many families as possible!
If you wish to donate to the Lutheran Home gift tree, please send your donation by this Wednesday morning!
If you wish to purchase books from the current Scholastic Book order, please make sure to have your orders in by this coming Wednesday morning. These orders need to be placed a little earlier to ensure delivery before Christmas break.
In the upcoming weeks, we will be working on a special art project. All of the students will need a soup can for this project. A standard 12 or 16-ounce can will work perfectly for the project. When you send the can to school, please make sure it is clean inside and out (no labels or glue) and have your child’s initials on the bottom of the can. If you would like to send an extra just in case someone doesn’t have one or needs to start over, that would be greatly appreciated.
Please note that this next week marks the beginning of Advent. During this church season, we slow down and take the time to anticipate the coming of our tiny savior. Please note that one thing I will do to help families take the time to worship at our mid-week Wednesday services is not to have spelling on Wednesdays. I will try to lighten the amount of homework when appropriate in other classes as well
This next week there will be a few tests coming up. The fifth graders will have a math test on Tuesday. The fourth graders will have an English test on Thursday. Additionally, the chapter 2 Social Studies test is coming up on Thursday. Over break, you can have your child log into their google account, go to google classroom, and work on the vocabulary words with some quiz games. Finally, the usual spelling test will resume on Friday.
There is a schedule change that affects all Trinity families. Please note that to make travel easier, it has been decided NOT to have school on Friday, December 23.
