As always, Minnesota weather has proven to be unpredictable. While the first week was cool and comfy and felt like fall, this past week was warm and sticky and felt more like the beginning of September. Either way, the students continue to enjoy being with their friends here at school and getting the chance to run and play outside
Cross Country Changes
We are looking for an adult or two that would be interested in coaching cross country. We now have 2 possible meets for this school year, and both meets are set up for third-eighth grade participation.
The first meet is coming up fast! It will be Saturday, October 3 starting at 9 a.m. This meet will be held in a city park right behind the St. Croix High School property in West St. Paul and is for students in third through eighth-grade. The third through sixth-grade will be running a mile, and the seventh and eighth-grade will run 1.5 miles.
Then, on Wednesday, October 14, there will be a meet for the third through eighth-grade (this is a change). This meet is held at Bassett Creek Park at 1 p.m. Again, the third through sixth graders will run a mile, and the seventh and eighth-graders will run 1.5 miles.
If you are interested in coaching, please talk to Susan Van Houten. svanhouten@trinitybelleplaine.org. If your child/ren is interested in running in either of these meets, please let Susan know as soon as possible as well.
Dress Code Reminder
With the calendar page flipping over to October, we would like to remind all the families that shorts and capris are only permitted to be worn during the months of October-April if the forecasted high of the day is 70 degrees or higher. Please keep in mind that if your child attends Before School Care, they will be outside and that those morning temperatures can be chilly.
Daily at-home Health Check
Please continue to check your child’s temperature before leaving for school to verify they do not have a fever of 100.4 degrees or more. (Do not medicate your child and send them.)
Also, please perform a visual check on your child for the following conditions:
- Flushed Cheeks
- Rapid Breathing/Difficulty Breathing
- Fatigue
- Extreme Fussiness
- Runny Nose
- Excessive Cough
- Sneezing
- Rash
Please note that students will be admitted into school if these symptoms are connected to a pre-existing condition or diagnosis not related to COVID (e.g., norovirus, strep throat) and are deemed safe by a health care provider.
Dropping Off
Please note that any students that are dropped off before 8 a.m. will need to go to Before School Care and will be billed at the end of the month. Also, if you are dropping off your child at 8:00 a.m. or later, please have your child use the main school entrance. Only the students in Before School Care should use the doors closest to the playground
