Halloween Costumes
This year Halloween falls on a Saturday, but the downtown trick-or-treating event is on Friday, October 30. Please note that we do not wear costumes during the school day as we like to focus on the Reformation that was led by Martin Luther. In the past, families would change at Trinity for the downtown trick-or-treating event. Since we have a capacity on our bathrooms and are limiting how many people come and go from the school, students will NOT be able to change into costumes here at school
Birthday Breakfast for Jesus
Unfortunately, the decision has been made to cancel this year’s Birthday Breakfast for Jesus. Hopefully, next year we will be able to enjoy this fantastic event again.
Basketball Update
We have a head coach! Thank you, Jodi, Denis, and Tracy, for coaching our basketball team this year! If your child would like to play, there is still time to join the team! This year our team is open to all 4-7th grade boys and girls. Our first game will be on 11/20. Since the league just reworked and approved a new schedule this past Tuesday, I will get more details out as soon as possible.
Cold and Flu Season
With the arrival of snow, I think it is safe to say that cold and flu season is also here. Many of you may be wondering what to do when your child develops new symptoms that most likely is related to a typical cold but are also possible symptoms related to COVID-19. According to the most current guidelines, if your child has one of the following symptoms, then they need to remain home for at least 10 days unless a health care provider clears your child to return to school:
- a fever of 100.4 or greater
- new or worsening cough
- difficulty breathing
- a new loss of taste and smell
Additionally, all siblings must also remain home for 10 days or until a health care provider gives the ok.
For more information or questions on whether you should send your child to school, please contact Susan Van Houten or your child’s classroom teacher.
Trinity Care
Please continue to register your child/ren for Trinity Care up to 2 weeks in advance. Additional directions are given in the Google spreadsheet.
Daily at-home Health Check
Please continue to check your child’s temperature before leaving for school to verify they do not have a fever of 100.4 degrees or more. (Do not medicate your child and send them.)
Also, please perform a visual check on your child for the following conditions:
- Flushed Cheeks
- Rapid Breathing/Difficulty Breathing
- Fatigue
- Extreme Fussiness
- Runny Nose
- Excessive Cough
- Sneezing
- Rash
Please note that students will be admitted into school if these symptoms are connected to a pre-existing condition or diagnosis not related to COVID (e.g., norovirus, strep throat) and are deemed safe by a health care provider.
