Week of January 11

Survey for Parents

We would like your feedback!  Starting Monday, January 18, there will be a change made to the end of the day busing schedule. There is a separate email going out today detailing that change and what it means for Trinity.  Please make sure you carefully read the email and complete the survey by the end of the day, Monday, January 11.  If you have any additional questions or comments, please reach out to Mrs. Van Houten.

Winter Clothes

With the return of the snow piles comes the return of snow clothes!  This week we are already finding orphaned gloves and such.  Please make sure to label your child’s snow clothes to more easily reunite items with their owners.

BOSE

Did you know that Trinity’s Board of School Elders (BOSE) meets on the second Tuesday of every month?  Did you know that they have a spot on their monthly agenda for public appearances?  This spot is for any family that would like to address the group concerning school matters.  If you ever have something you would like to speak to BOSE about, please reach out to either Curt Raddatz or Mrs. Van Houten so they can plan for your visit.

Trinity Care Billing Change

Please note that starting February 1, 2021, there will be a change in how families will be charged for the use of the Trinity Care program.  For more information, please see the attached letter.  If you have any questions regarding the changes, please reach out to Miss Reese (mreese@trinitybelleplaine.org).

School Closings for Weather

Since the public school district is going to a distance learning format, we will not be able to follow their lead when snowstorms hit. If we should decide to have a delayed start, early dismissal, or call off school for a full day due to weather, a teacher will reach out to each family to communicate any changes to our school day.

Cold and Flu Season

Many of you may be wondering what to do when your child develops new symptoms that most likely is related to a typical cold but are also possible symptoms related to COVID-19. According to the most current guidelines, if your child has one of the following symptoms, then they need to remain home for at least 10 days unless a health care provider clears your child to return to school:

  • a fever of 100.4 or greater
    • new or worsening cough
    • difficulty breathing
    • a new loss of taste and smell

Additionally, all siblings must also remain home for 10 days or until a health care provider gives the ok. Please contact Susan Van Houten or your child’s teacher with any questions or for more information.

Daily at-home Health Check

Please continue to check your child’s temperature before leaving for school to verify they do not have a fever of 100.4 degrees or more. (Do not medicate your child and send them.)

Also, please perform a visual check on your child for the following conditions:

  • Flushed Cheeks
  • Rapid Breathing/Difficulty Breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Extreme Fussiness
  • Runny Nose
  • Excessive Cough
  • Sneezing
  • Rash

Please note that students will be admitted into school if these symptoms are connected to a pre-existing condition or diagnosis not related to COVID (e.g., norovirus, strep throat) and are deemed safe by a health care provider.
