Week of January 25

Mission

Our 2nd Semester chapel offerings will be used for the Equipping Christian Witnesses campaign at our teacher and pastor training school, Martin Luther College.  MLC is located in New Ulm, MN.   Offerings will help to recruit more students for ministerial training, increase the financial support of students, and provide facilities for effective ministerial education.

BOSE Survey

BOSE (Board of School Elders) would like feedback from each of our families about Trinity Lutheran School and how successfully we are meeting our mission statement.  Please take the time to complete the 10-question survey found at the link below.

If you would like to provide additional feedback, please feel free to reach out to a BOSE member with either an email or a phone call.  If you are not sure how to contact them, Mrs. Van Houten (svanhouten@trinitybelleplaine.org ) can help connect you.

Trinity Care

Please continue to register your child/ren for Trinity Care up to 2 weeks in advance. Additional directions are given in the Google spreadsheet.

School Closings for Weather

Since the public school district is going to a distance learning format, we will not be able to follow their lead when snowstorms hit. If we should decide to have a delayed start, early dismissal, or call off school for a full day due to weather, a teacher will reach out to each family to communicate any changes to our school day. Please remember, if the school day is shortened for weather, that Trinity Care will be cancelled for that portion of the day.

Cold and Flu Season

Many of you may be wondering what to do when your child develops new symptoms that most likely is related to a typical cold but are also possible symptoms related to COVID-19. According to the most current guidelines, if your child has one of the following symptoms, then they need to remain home for at least 10 days unless a health care provider clears your child to return to school:

  • a fever of 100.4 or greater
    • new or worsening cough
    • difficulty breathing
    • a new loss of taste and smell

Additionally, all siblings must also remain home for 10 days or until a health care provider gives the ok. Please contact Susan Van Houten or your child’s teacher with any questions or for more information.

Daily at-home Health Check

Please continue to check your child’s temperature before leaving for school to verify they do not have a fever of 100.4 degrees or more. (Do not medicate your child and send them.)

Also, please perform a visual check on your child for the following conditions:

  • Flushed Cheeks
  • Rapid Breathing/Difficulty Breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Extreme Fussiness
  • Runny Nose
  • Excessive Cough
  • Sneezing
  • Rash

Please note that students will be admitted into school if these symptoms are connected to a pre-existing condition or diagnosis not related to COVID (e.g., norovirus, strep throat) and are deemed safe by a health care provider.
