Can you believe that we will be turning the calendar page next week! Time sure does fly.
The students now have 1 week left to earn their A.R. points for September. Please help them succeed by reminding them to bring their library books back to school every day. This past week I tried to give students reading time, but there were several students that did not have their books.
Next week we will continue to increase how much we accomplish during the day at school. The 3rd-graders will be doing all of the math problems from their assignment this week. There will be a 4th-grade math test on Wednesday, and the usual spelling test will be on Friday.
Don’t forget; hot lunch orders are due TODAY at the start of the school day.
On Sunday, October 3, the students will be singing “A Closing Prayer” in church at the 9 a.m. church service. While it is nice to have a big, full group of students there to sing, I know some of you have your regular church home, and I understand if you are not able to sing with us. If your child will NOT be singing, please let me know so I can plan accordingly.
Next week I will be sending home the next Scholastic Book Order. As always, it is optional for your family to purchase books. If you are placing an order, you can either go online and use the class code, or you can send the exact payment to school along with the order form. If you choose to pay by check, please make it out to “Susan Van Houten” so that I can complete the order with a credit card.
Here are some important dates for your calendar.
Friday, October 1 Book orders are due
Sunday, October 3 3-5 Sing in church
Friday, October 15 School Pictures
October 4-8 Fire Prevention Week
October 21-22 No School
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and ask.
