December 13-17

Christmas is coming FAST!  We are just about a week and a half away from the Children’s Christmas program and two weeks away from Christmas break.  There is so much to do before then!

This next week the students will have an English test on Tuesday.  The third graders will also have a math test on Wednesday.  We will also start to prepare for the next S.S. test on the last day of school before break.  Finally, the students will have their usual spelling test on Friday.  This will be the last spelling test before the break.

Don’t forget to keep your child reading at home, working on their A.R. points for December.  Six students have already hit their goal!  Please make sure your child brings their book back to school every day. I am trying hard to give them more reading time at school with the shorter month.

If your child is participating in Read to Achieve, keep working on those 500 minutes. These forms are due back by Monday, December 13.  As soon as they hit their goal, they can send those sheets back to school.

On Wednesday, December 22, we will have a classroom party in the afternoon.  For the classroom party, I like to play a couple of games, enjoy some snacks, and watch a movie.  Would you please pass along any suggestions for Christmas or winter-themed movies that I could stream from Netflix?  I am not much of a movie watcher, so I am not sure of good options.

Here are some important dates for your calendar.
