February 14-18

This is the last weekend to finish up S.S. fair projects.  Please make sure your child has everything at school for the fair on Wednesday.  We will be setting up at the end of the day.  The schedule for the Social Studies Fair night is as follows.

6:15-6:30- arrive and view projects

6:30-6:45- Stand by your project to answer questions

6:45-7:30 – Presentations by 5th and 6th graders in their classroom (all are welcome to watch)

Please take your student’s projects home at the end of the night. (6:45 or later)

This next week, we will continue the NWEA MAP testing. Remember, the best way to help your child prepare for this is to ensure they eat a healthy breakfast and get plenty of sleep. School-aged children (5-12 years old) need 9-12 hours of sleep a night for optimal health and cognitive functioning.

There will be just two regular classroom tests this next week. On Friday the students will be taking the next English and spelling test.

February always goes by so fast.  Every year, there is a lot going on, we have a few days off of school, and it is a shorter month in general. Please make sure your child is working on reading their novels for their A.R. goals.  So far, five students have already hit their goal, and two students have earned over ten points already!

This next week we will be finishing up the last of the stories in your current ChristLight folder.  Please send these folders back to school on Thursday, February 17.  The following week, I will send home the final set of lessons for the year.

Don’t forget to send your child’s reading log back to school tomorrow to be entered into the drawing for a free book.
