September 4-7

Here is the first of many weekly emails that you will receive from me throughout the year.  Usually, you will find this email delivered to your email inbox first thing Thursday morning.  Please take the time to read through them and ask any questions about the upcoming week.

Attached to these emails you will find a pdf of the assignments that are planned for the following week.  All assignments are listed on the day that they are assigned to the students and are due at the beginning of the following day unless otherwise noted. I will also make sure to highlight any tests that will be given during the week.

Next week on Tuesday, your child will come home with a lot of different things.  Some important items for you to look for will be a memory work packet and a spelling list packet that will be your main resource for the whole school year. There will also be a back to school letter (goldenrod) for you, the parents, to read through.  There is a portion for you to sign and return. There will also be a blue, permission slip for our first field trip on Monday, September 17. We will be going to River Rendezvous for a full day field trip and will need drivers for this.

Your student will also be coming home with order forms for Scholastic Book Orders and school pictures.  Please see the note that is attached to the Book Orders for details on how to order. Any orders that you wish to place are due back to school on September 10.

One more important piece of information that your child will be coming home with is the first Christ-Light folder for the year.  Please keep this in a safe place at home.  This can be useful as a devotional/Bible Study tool for your family, or as a resource should your child miss a day of school. At the end of the 26 lessons I will be collecting those stories and will send home a new folder with the next set of lessons.

On Wednesdays your child will come home with a small envelope for mission money. Giving money to support mission work is a personal choice.  If you choose to support other mission work that is perfectly fine. All I ask is that you please send the empty envelope back to school so that it can be used throughout the year.
