December 21-22

The count down to Christmas is getting close!  How are you doing on your Christmas to-do lists?  I know I always feel like it is a mad dash to get it all done every year.

Next week is a short week as we go into the Christmas holiday break.  We will have a S.S. test on Monday and an English test on Tuesday.

Don’t forget, the final rehearsal for the Children’s Christmas program is this Saturday from 9-10:30.  Please make sure your child is dropped off (church doors) and ready to go by 9:00.  Then,  you can pick them up again at 10:30.  Also, if your child is playing a preservice piece, they should have their music with them to practice at 10:30 when the full group rehearsal is done.  More details will be sent home with your child either today, Thursday, or Friday.

On Sunday, the Children’s Christmas service will start at 4 p.m.  When you arrive, your child should sit with you in the pew.  All third and fourth-grade students will come up to the front as the congregation is singing, “Behold a Branch is Growing.”  Please help nudge them on their way during this time. When they are done with their portion of the service, they will return for the rest of the service.

If you are planning to order hot lunch for January, please remember the forms are due tomorrow.

Now that the weather seems to be acting more like typical Minnesota winter weather, please make sure your child has hats and gloves to wear at recess.

So far, four students have hit their monthly goal for A.R., and three students are less than a point away.  How is your student doing? The last time students can take an A.R. test in December is next Tuesday.  Please make sure they are bringing their library books back and forth from school every day to be working on this goal.

On Tuesday, December 22, we will put our regular afternoon schedule on hold and celebrate Christmas in our classroom.  Usually, I provide a few light snacks, we play some games and watch a movie.  I am not exactly up on kids’ movies, so if you have a suggestion of a movie that I can stream off Netflix, I would greatly appreciate it.
