November 14-18

As we close the books on the first quarter, it would also look like the weather is taking a more fall into winter direction with temperatures. Next week’s forecast is looking chilly. Please make sure your child has an appropriate coat, hat, and gloves for recess. Also, if your child is in basketball, they should plan to have some pants to wear home as well after practice.

This next week will be odd but busy. On  Tuesday, the fifth graders will have a math test. They will also have an English test on Thursday as well. The usual spelling test will be on Friday for all students.   In addition, the fifth graders will leave school early on Thursday for the forensics event at Martin Luther College.   The fourth graders will have classes in the afternoon as usual.

Lately, there have been several students that do not have their library books here at school. Please ensure that they bring their library books to school every day so that when I give them time to read for A.R., they have the supplies they need to do that.

If your fifth grader is attending the Martin Luther College forensics event, please consider having them do their Prose reading with you at home. They need to present their memorized introduction and then go directly into their selections.   Their entire presentation needs to be between 2.5 and 3.5 minutes.
