May 8-12

It is starting to feel like May now that the wind has calmed down. Looking ahead to next week, the temperatures look great! One thing that I have learned from the past is that students seem to have a harder time settling in to do homework or maintaining a good bedtime routine when the weather warms up, and the sun sets later. Please consider keeping a good routine to help them complete their work and to be fully rested for school each day.

This next week, we will be getting back to our regular routine. The fifth-graders will have a math test on Monday and an English test on Tuesday. The Fourth-graders will have an English test on Friday. Finally, there will be a Social Studies test and the usual spelling test on Friday.

Please note that May is a shorter month for library books. Please encourage your child to work to achieve their AR goals earlier in the month.

There has been a slight change in plans for storytelling. This Friday, all remaining 4th and 5th graders will be telling their Bible stories from memory.

Tomorrow, Friday is the due date for the final Scholastic Book order. Please see the attached note on the order forms for directions on how to place an order.

Here are some important dates for your calendar.
