Week of October 12

The warm weather sure has been a treat this week. The students and teachers are all enjoying their last few days out in the sun and warm temperatures.

Thank you to all who answered the survey that was sent out last Friday.  Since only one family had indicated that they would have difficulties without having the school bus service, we will go ahead with the planned day of in-person learning.  We are looking forward to seeing the students on Wednesday.

Now, since I am new to Survey Monkey, I didn’t realize that it wouldn’t automatically report the respondents when sending just a link for the survey.  That means that I don’t actually know who had responded that they would not be able to transport their own child/ren.  If that family would please e-mail me, Susan Van Houten at svanhouten@trinitybelleplaine.org , that would be great. I would like to see if I can help come up with a transportation solution.  Also, if there are any other families that will not be able to transport their own child/ren, please contact me.

Cross Country update

The first cross country meet at St. Croix went great!  Trinity’s students ran hard and represented Trinity well with no formal practices prior to the meet.  Congratulations to Sophia Ahearn who placed 2nd and Genevieve Nielsen who placed 3rd in the girls seventh-grade race!

This coming Wednesday will be the second and final meet. Please note that the organizers of the meet are asking that runners not arrive more than 30 minutes before their race and to not remain at the meet once they are done unless they traveled with other runners waiting to compete. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Coaches Ahearn and Nielsen.

NWEA MAP Testing

This next week the 3-7th grade students will finish up their testing sessions.  Please help your child/ren do their best by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy, balanced breakfast each morning.

Downtown Trick or Treating

Hello Trinity families! We are looking for volunteers to help out with this year’s downtown trick-or-treat! If you’d like, you can sign up to stand in Trinity’s booth and help hand out candy. If you are not able to do that but would still like to help out, we are accepting candy donations. The downtown trick-or-treat is on October 30th and our booth will be there from 3:00-5:00. Below are links to where you can sign up to help or donate. Thank you!!  Contact Miss Boeder with any questions.

Harvest Celebration

Trinity is hosting its 3rd annual Harvest Celebration on October 24th from 3:00-6:00.  There will be games, trunk or treat, hay wagon rides and a meal served at 4:00. The entire event wil take place outside.  Come join in the fun and fellowship at the Harvest Celebration!  We would love to see you there!

Harvest Celebration Volunteers Needed

PTO is looking for volunteers for running games at the Harvest Festival. Please contact Tera Raddatz at 612-701-3287 if you would like to help out! Thank you!

Dress Code Reminder

With the calendar page flipping over to October, we would like to remind all the families that shorts and capris are only permitted to be worn during the months of October-April if the forecasted high of the day is 70 degrees or higher.  Please keep in mind that if your child attends Before School Care, they will be outside and that those morning temperatures can be chilly.

Extra Cloth Masks

If your child needs more cloth masks, please feel free to contact Susan Van Houten (svanhouten@trinitybelleplaine.org) to request more.  We still have many free ones on hand.

Daily at-home Health Check

Please continue to check your child’s temperature before leaving for school to verify they do not have a fever of 100.4 degrees or more. (Do not medicate your child and send them.)

Also, please perform a visual check on your child for the following conditions:

  • Flushed Cheeks
  • Rapid Breathing/Difficulty Breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Extreme Fussiness
  • Runny Nose
  • Excessive Cough
  • Sneezing
  • Rash

Please note that students will be admitted into school if these symptoms are connected to a pre-existing condition or diagnosis not related to COVID (e.g., norovirus, strep throat) and are deemed safe by a health care provider.

Dropping Off

Just a reminder that any students that are dropped off before 8 a.m. will need to go to Before School Care and will be billed at the end of the month.  Also, if you are dropping off your child at 8:00 a.m. or later, please have your child use the main school entrance.  Only the students in Before School Care should use the doors closest to the playground.

Trinity Care

Please continue to register your child/ren for Trinity Care up to 2 weeks in advance. Additional directions are given in the Google spreadsheet.
